The whole world, meet Steve

Hello, my name is Stephen Charles Rea, but you can call me “.rev” and I’m a Microsoft Certified Trainer. I created  askthemct.com to start publishing helpful how-to segments and IT Certification News. Once I’ve completed the setup and get a theme and template nailed down I’ll put up a contact section for you to9 send in questions that you want answered, in the meantime I will do my best to keep you up to date in what’s new in technology, new exams and certifications. If you have any questions please ask.

Now that the introduction is out of the way. I’d like to tell you about my equipment. :) I will be doing most of this using Dreamweaver and Windows Live Writer from my HTPC running Windows Vista Ultimate. I just put this system together last week, because I watch a lot of TV, something you may find out about when I rant about the show Heroes in the middle of some server rant.

  1. I have the HP Elite 9060n. It’s a first rate media PC. All the components are made by Asus, a top manufacturer. That said, the standard Asus CPU cooling fan is marginal for the Q6600 Quad. I upgraded the CPU cooler to the Asus V70. It has a heatsink w/4 heatpipes and lots of surface area. CPU temps dropped significantly. I just wish I could overclock it.
